CURRENT VACANCIES

GENERAL LABOURER

As General Labourer at SB Joinery, you will work pro-actively and reactively to ensure that scheduled work is completed each day and deal with any unforeseen events as they arise. You will make sure that the workshop is clean, tidy and safe to move around.

Day to day your main duties will include;

·          Unloading the timber delivery in the morning onto the racking via FLT.

·          Clean the workshops area including the waste and recycling sections, emptying timber bins and sweeping around benches and machinery

·          Maintain goods in area (throughout the day) including; checking deliveries match the delivery note, distributing goods to joiners or adding to stock

·          Ensure the workshop and its grounds are professionally cleaned, well presented and maintained and proactively improve when needed.

·          Clean the warehouse area including the waste and recycling sections

·          Operate industrial cleaning machinery

·          Carry out minor maintenance tasks and report any major requirements to your manager

·          Ensure that all health and safety risks in the workshop are identified and report any trips, spills, hazards or near misses as per the site procedures, to the  Workshop Manager and People & Culture

·          Complete any health and safety checks as required

·          To carry out deep cleaning as and when requested

·          Ensure all car parks, footpaths and communal areas are kept well maintained, clean  and free of litter and hazards.

·          Ensure that instructions for the maintenance, cleaning and storage of equipment are consistently followed.

·          Collection of goods when needed.

·          Wrapping and Packing of items being sent for delivery.

 

Other duties may  include;

·          Deep cleaning as per schedule (walls etc)

·          Tend to external areas such as grass cutting

·          Any other reasonable duties, as requested by the Senior Leadership Team.

·          Ad hoc removal of waste from the site such as taking items to the recycling  centre.

PROJECT MANAGER

To successfully manage and deliver projects from inception through to completion, managing and being responsible for the 6 aspects of a project – scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality and resources.

Essential Skills :-

· Basic knowledge of completing risk analysis and producing of RAMS.

ASSISTANT ESTIMATOR

As part of the Commercial team, you will support the Senior Estimators and the Commercial Director in managing and coordinating all aspects of tenders from initial enquiry and qualifying job specific information though to breaking down the project once secured to give the factory the allowances to manufacture. You will be responsible for liaising with customers and sales members to understand their requirements and assisting with producing competitive estimates.

Essential Skills :-

· Strong numericalskills and ability to interpret data.

· Proactive in managing workload.

· Excellent time &task manager

· Goal driven

· Excellent communication skills

· Ability to work without supervision

· Ability to work as part of a team

· Knowledge  of Microsoft Office

· Quick  typing skills

· 5  GCSE Qualifications

· A clean UK driving license

Desirable Skills :-

· Ability to read technical drawings

· A good understanding of the manufacturing process and site installations.

· Previous use of sales and estimating software such as JoinerySoft and Staircon

· Understanding of Smartsheet

· Carpentry  & Joinery City and Guilds

· A Levels or higher qualifications

· Previously  worked as a Joiner or Carpenter, site fixer or CAD

· CSCS  Card Operative

This position is for manufacturing windows and doors, setting out jobs, machining and assembling components. Applicants must have a good experience of working with wood working machinery and a proven track record.
