CURRENT VACANCIES

GENERAL LABOURER

As General Labourer at SB Joinery, you will work pro-actively and reactively to ensure that scheduled work is completed each day and deal with any unforeseen events as they arise. You will make sure that the workshop is clean, tidy and safe to move around.

Day to day your main duties will include;

·          Unloading the timber delivery in the morning onto the racking via FLT.

·          Clean the workshops area including the waste and recycling sections, emptying timber bins and sweeping around benches and machinery

·          Maintain goods in area (throughout the day) including; checking deliveries match the delivery note, distributing goods to joiners or adding to stock

·          Ensure the workshop and its grounds are professionally cleaned, well presented and maintained and proactively improve when needed.

·          Clean the warehouse area including the waste and recycling sections

·          Operate industrial cleaning machinery

·          Carry out minor maintenance tasks and report any major requirements to your manager

·          Ensure that all health and safety risks in the workshop are identified and report any trips, spills, hazards or near misses as per the site procedures, to the  Workshop Manager and People & Culture

·          Complete any health and safety checks as required

·          To carry out deep cleaning as and when requested

·          Ensure all car parks, footpaths and communal areas are kept well maintained, clean  and free of litter and hazards.

·          Ensure that instructions for the maintenance, cleaning and storage of equipment are consistently followed.

·          Collection of goods when needed.

·          Wrapping and Packing of items being sent for delivery.

 

Other duties may  include;

·          Deep cleaning as per schedule (walls etc)

·          Tend to external areas such as grass cutting

·          Any other reasonable duties, as requested by the Senior Leadership Team.

·          Ad hoc removal of waste from the site such as taking items to the recycling  centre.

PROJECT MANAGER

To successfully manage and deliver projects from inception through to completion, managing and being responsible for the 6 aspects of a project – scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality and resources.

QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Work strategically and efficiently to deliver exceptional commercial results on prestigious projects in and around the UK and Europe. You will work with the rest of the Commercial team to ensure the profitability, cost control and accurate monthly applications on projects, aswell as placing subcontract orders and managing these contracts.

Essential Skills :-

· Knowledge  of Joinery applications in Cabinetry, Doors and Windows & stairs.

· Strong numerical skills and ability to interpret data.

· Ability to read technical drawings

· A good understanding of the manufacturing process and site installations.

· Excellent time & task manager

· Goal driven

· Ability  to work under pressure

· Proactive  in managing workload.

· Excellent verbal & written English

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

· At least 5 years’ experience working as a Quantity  Surveyor

· Significant experience of initiating, delivering, leading and embedding change  initiatives

· Knowledge  of risk analysis and management with reference to balancing people  management, employment law and commercial/financial consideration 

· A clean UK driving license

 

Desirable Skills :-

· Understanding of Sales Process Engineering.

· Understanding of contract law

· Experience of AutoCAD

· Knowledge of Antiquerestoration and French polishing

· Experience in Lean Management

· Previous use of sales and estimating software such as JoinerySoft

· Previous use of construction management software such as Procore or Viewpoint

· Carpentry & Joinery City and Guilds

·  Advanced craft or Institute of Carpentry

· CIPD Membership at chartered or fellow level

· RICS  accredited university degree

· HNC  in construction or relevant Degree level qualification

· Previously worked as a Joiner or Carpenter, site fixer, Setting out

· CSCS Card Operative

ASSISTANT ESTIMATOR

As part of the Commercial team, you will support the Senior Estimators and the Commercial Director in managing and coordinating all aspects of tenders from initial enquiry and qualifying job specific information though to breaking down the project once secured to give the factory the allowances to manufacture. You will be responsible for liaising with customers and sales members to understand their requirements and assisting with producing competitive estimates.

This position is for manufacturing windows and doors, setting out jobs, machining and assembling components. Applicants must have a good experience of working with wood working machinery and a proven track record.
