OUR FOUNDER
From a shed in his back garden with only a bag of hand tools, Stephen Brown founded SB Joinery in the wake of economic recession in 1989. He built his reputation one project at a time and his exquisite quality and impeccable skill set his work apart, earning him a growing number of satisfied clients. As word spread, the demand for his work grew steadily which led him to employ his first staff in 1991.
Recommendation became the primary source of growth and remains our strength today. By 1994, Stephen set up his first joinery shop, transforming an old telephone exchange with new machinery which the company outgrew and outgrew again as demand and capacity continued to develop.
From a modest garden shed to a thriving enterprise, Stephen’s journey is a testament to his dedication, skill and unwavering commitment to craftsmanship.
